I bought a leather A-2 jacket that was worn (presumably) by someone in the 75th fighter squadron.  The jacket has major's rank insignia on the shoulders, a Flying Tiger Shark patch on the wearer's right front, CBI patch on the right shoulder, USAAF decal on the left shoulder, and blood chit on the back.  It has no initials or writing inside.  Looks to be authentic due to the amount of wear.

I know this website is primarily dedicated to the AVG, but I thought maybe someone might know who this jacket belonged to since some of the AVG guys were with the USAAF squadrons during the war.  I have been researching the 75th and have found two majors - John Alison and Tex Hill.  I don't know if there were more guys with the rank of major in the 75th or if perhaps the rank insignia were added later after promotion.  Any help identifying the pilot who wore it would be greatly appreciated.

Your jacket looks very old, but from what I can see, the patches look very new.
Possibly it is an old jacket that has had newer patches attached to it?
Sorry, can't help with the ownership.

Hopefully you did not pay a lot for yor jacket. Even with the photos you posted I can tell you your jacket has reproduction patches. I have had hundreds of the original squadron patches and I can tell at a glance anymore. Sorry,

Richard

Thanks for the comments.  Could you tell me what it is about the patches that make them reproduction?  How do they differ from the originals?
