I'm Keith Lee, one of 4 children of Pak On Lee, engineering helper in Headquarters Group.

July 4, is the 72nd anniversary of the forced disbanding of the AVG.  2015 will be the 70th anniversary of the end of WW II.  There is a national celebration planned for the end of WW II, but it seems little if anything is planned for the recognition of the brief history of the AVG or even the inclusion of the AVG in the upcoming celebration.

In addition to the observance of the end of WW II, I have sent memo to the families of the 12 Chinese of the American Volunteer Group (the CAVG; the explanation of the number of Chinese is explained in the book, 'a Chinese in the AVG, which officially records 8) reminding them of the significance of July 4 and the participation and service of their fathers in WW II for both America and China.  8 of the Chinese served with the CATF and the USA Fourteenth Air Force.

Are there plans underway to bring the AVG into the national celebration next year?  There is still time and the AVG deserves the recognition.
