We are saddened to learn of the death of Red Hanks, due to complications from a fall.
Information on a memorial service will be posted after her daughter returns from business travel.
Red was a remarkable woman and she will be missed by all.

I have known Red for about 25 years. She was like family. I spent a lot of time with her.

For a very good article on Red Foster Hanks, go to Google then Bob Bergen, Author, then go down to "Lady and the Tigers."

Thank you for the article; one I hadn't read yet...To know her was to love her...there was only one like her!  She is with the angels, for certain.

I do believe that the memorial will be at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 502 South Morris Street, Oxford, Maryland at 1pm on November 14th. (410-226-5134).  My husband (John Petach, after his uncle) received a call from Joan Claire yesterday with the above details.

Best~

Friend of Johnny the Petach family
We were sorry to hear of the passing of Emma Jane.  We met Emma Jane in the 1970's in Clark N.J. with a gathering of the AVG and Julia Petach and her daughter Mary.

We did in fact become very close to Mrs. Petach and mary for many years until their death.

Widow of AVG pilot J. R. Rossi
"Red" was a good and dear friend of ours. She was someone who spoke her mind and would tell you the truth. I first met her in 1966 and got to know her over the years while attending the AVG Flying Tiger reunions. I admired her very much and will miss seeing her.
