My father-in-law was a Flying Tiger and has even went to conventions for it.  My question is .... he died this year and we received from a friend a "Flying Tiger" emblem for a keepshake.  We were wondering if it is a real one.  It is a flying tiger with wings but it has a white star with a red circle in center (like flag of Japan) above tiger.  Does anyone know?  I hope it is because my husband really thinks it is special.  My father-in-law was a wonderful man and we have pictures of him with his plane.  Thank you for your help, Nancy

I believe you are describing the 14th Air Force emblem.  For more information check the website:  http://community-2.webtv.net/cbivet/ATRIBUTETOTHE14th
